Case Manager for Children and Young People

Barbara joined ACM in November 2009 as a case manager for children and young people.

Barbara has extensive experience, specialising in work with children and young people with complex needs. Most recently she led a team of community occupational therapists working with children and young people aged 0-19 years with a wide range of special needs and complex disabilities, and their families/carers.

Barbara qualified as an occupational therapist in 1980, having previously worked as a residential social worker with children with physical disabilities. During her career she has worked within the charitable, statutory and independent sectors.

Having completed a Masters Degree at the University of Cambridge in Primary and Community Healthcare in 2002, taking a particular interest in learning and development, Barbara worked in a project post as a training and development manager for occupational therapists and then as a placement facilitator for OT students studying at the University of East Anglia offering training, support and mentorship for clinical educators and students.

Barbara holds membership with BAOT, COT-SS Children, Young People and Families and is registered with the Health Professions Council. She is also a member of BABICM at Practitioner level.
