Brain Injury Case Manager

Helen qualified as an Occupational Therapist from the University of Lancaster. She joined Anglia Case Management in September 2009.

Helen has a range of specialist neurological Occupational Therapy skills, having worked within acute and community settings and with a wide variety of neurological conditions. Her most recent experience is within a neuro rehabilitation setting at the Central Scotland Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre (Huntercombe). Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and alongside occupational therapy colleagues, she was responsible for individual assessments of client’s needs which included cognitive, behaviour and functional needs.

Helen has also worked in a community traumatic brain injury team where she was involved in the early assessment and management of clients complex needs within their own homes. She had specific responsibility for assisting clients to access appropriate education and training courses in their local communities, which involved close liaison with tutors, learning support staff and local education authorities.

During Helen’s training she was a support worker at a residential children’s assessment centre, working with children who had mental health and behavioural difficulties that could no longer be managed in the community.

Prior to training as an occupational therapist Helen worked as an area manager for both Kellogs UK and Rank Hovis McDougal, where she was responsible for key account management, staff management, supervision and annual appraisal.

Helen is registered with the Health Professions Council and is a member of the British Association of Occupational Therapists. She is registered with BABICM at practitioner level.
