Barbara_LongCase Manager for Children and Young People

Barbara joined ACM in 2009 as a Case Manager for Children and Young People. Her role includes assessing the needs of children with complex disabilities and also their families.  She can support parents to establish therapy and care teams, identify suitable housing, manage significant adaptation work, and access appropriate education provision to meet the child’s needs.

She is highly experienced in the recruitment and management of therapy and care teams, and coordinating services and people to best meet the needs of those she works with; acting as an advocate for them.

Barbara also supports clients through the litigation process.

Barbara qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1980 and during her career she has worked in the charitable, statutory and independent sectors. She has extensive clinical, management and training and development experience. Prior to joining ACM she led a team of community Occupational Therapists working with children with a wide range of special needs and complex disabilities.


In 2002 Barbara was awarded a Masters of Studies degree in Primary and Community Healthcare from Cambridge University.


Barbara is a member of BABICM at Practitioner level.
