Case Manager, Neuro Occuaptional Therapist,
Ellie qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2009 and has worked in the field of neurology since qualification. She works as a Case Manager for Adults and also practices as an OT within the Community Rehabilitation Service.
Ellie works with a number of adult clients who have complex cognitive and psycho-social challenges. Ellie’s main focus of work has been to support clients to achieve an understanding of their injury and its consquences, improve their independent living skills, and access education and employment. Ellie has recruited, managed and supervised support staff both in 24/7 teams and smaller teams or lone workers.
In her role as an Occupational Therapist, Ellie has developed and delivered upper limb rehabilitation programmes, as well as supporting clients to improve their mobility, transfers and accessibility within their home and leisure environments. She also has experience in assisting clients to source, trial and obtain appropriate vocational roles, encouraging social re-integration in a graded and supported manner. Ellie works to engage clients in functional tasks in the home and community to improve cognitive deficits or to identify and develop compensatory strategies to overcome these.
Ellie is an Interactive Metronome® certified provider. She is able to use this tool to deliver assessment and treatment programs for clients with neurological deficits that affect motor and cognitive functioning.
Prior to joining ACM, Ellie worked as an Occupational Therapist at Headway, where she had worked since qualifying as an OT.
Ellie is a member of BABICM at Registered Practitioner level, is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, and is a member of the British Association of Occupational Therapists and the Specialist Section for Neurological Practice.
