Having qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1994, Kate specialised in Critical Care, obtaining a post-registration certificate in this field. She continued her professional educational development and has a BSc (Hons) Nursing Practice.
Kate has experience of clients with brain injuries who have physical disabilities, cognitive impairment including challenging behaviour, and also those who are able to function more independently. She has worked closely with families to achieve goals, whilst liaising and managing multi-disciplinary team input for the client. Kate has also established and maintained care packages and rehabilitation for spinal injured adults and children.
In addition, Kate has considerable experience of setting up and managing complex ventilator dependent care packages in the community for both adults and children.
Kate is a registered health professional with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and holds membership of the British Association of Brain Injury Case Managers at Registered Practitioner level.
