Case Manager, Manual Handling Advisor
Gill qualified as an Occupational Therapist from the University of East Anglia in 2003 as a mature student, and prior to joining Anglia Case Management she worked as a Community Occupational Therapist for Norfolk Social Services.
Gill has many years of experience in working with a diverse client group and a range of professionals and agencies in social care, health and educational settings. She has managed a large and complex case load including both adults and children with a range of physical, psychological, social and environmental needs.
During her career she has worked in different districts and departments, and completed several secondments including one at the Colman Hospital specialist neurological rehabilitation centre out-patients service. She also worked for a private company setting up a new Occupational Therapy service to serve the domiciliary and residential care aspects of the business.
Gill has experience in identifying housing needs and making recommendations for adaptations or rehousing. She has also worked closely with informal carers and care agency staff in order to assess and manage risks related to moving and handling by demonstrating appropriate techniques and/or provision of equipment.
Gill joined ACM’s Manual Handling Service as a Manual Handling Advisor in 2015 and in September 2015 completed the City and Guilds accredited “Train the Trainer – the rehabilitation approach” course with the National Training Services in Northampton.
Gill is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and subscribes to the professional body of Occupational Therapists. She is also a member of BABICM.
