Case Manager

Helen’s case management role at ACM is to provide bespoke case management input for children with brain injuries, spinal injuries and other complex disabilities, who require care, support and rehabilitation.  She works with clients both pre and post settlement of personal injury and medical negligence awards.  Helen is involved in all aspects of the case management role, and has experience in the coordination of services and professionals as well as support worker recruitment and line management.

Helen joined ACM in early 2018, and she brings with her over twenty years experience of supporting children with a wide range of disabilities, and their families. Her knowledge and experience has been accrued through Local Authority and voluntary settings working with disabled children and young people and their families. Her most recent role was in a Local Authority Transition Team, where she supported young adults through periods of change. Helen has particular experience in supporting children who have complex support needs, and present behaviours that can significantly challenge. Through the course of her career, Helen has attended a wide range of specialist training courses and has worked in large multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the right support is provided.

Helen qualified as a Social Worker in 2004, and her most recent role was as a Senior Practitioner, Practice Educator and Assessor for newly qualified practitioners. She has extensive experience of working with Court processes, and is a good advocate for the young people and their families that she supports.

Helen has a particular interest in detailed assessments of her client’s needs and developing bespoke support packages to enable her clients to reach their potential. She has extensive experience of supporting young people and their families through period of crisis. She is currently studying for a Post Graduate Certificate in Systemic Family Therapy, and this is enabling her to develop her skills around supporting families through periods of crisis. She is very motivated to work holistically with clients and their families who find themselves in need of additional support, no matter the reason for this.

A skilled communicator and coordinator of services to meet identified needs, Helen is an able advocate and is used to striving to get the very best outcomes for her clients.  She prides herself on creative planning and being able to think laterally to devise bespoke solutions to individual’s identified needs, seeking to empower and engage clients and their families at every step.

Helen is especially geographically well located to assist our clients in London and the South East of England.
