KP669 – Support Workers Required – Boxworth, Nr Cambridge

Mr P suffered a severe brain injury in a road traffic collision in February 2017. He lives in Boxworth, Cambridgeshire with his wife and their two dogs. They have close family nearby. Mrs P describes her husband as having always been a family man and that his social life revolved around the family, participating in family holidays, family gatherings, days out and weekend outings, enjoying classic cars and restoration.
Mr P is very keen that his rehabilitation continues, and is well motivated to reach his goals. His goals include being able to more independently care for and train his dogs. He wants to spend more time doing fun activities to avoid feeling that all of his time when he feels good is spent working at his rehab. He also aims to explore local volunteering opportunities with support from his team. The sort of leisure activities being explored include Go Karting, cycling, as steps to a return to driving, learning to paint spray, and dog agility
Mr P is actively engaged in exercise both gym based and water based. He works with a range of therapists including Psychologist, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist and Dietician.
This post is within a small team who provide daily support to R. The team generally work 7.5 hour shifts. The team is made up of a mix of part time positions. The team also has a relief staff member who has no contracted hours and provide cover as and when required.
