BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy, IOSH Moving & Handling People & Equipment award
Neuro Occupational Therapist, Manual Handling Advisor
Being able to make a positive difference to people’s lives is one of the most rewarding aspects of being an Occupational Therapist in the Community Rehabilitation Service. I work with a diverse range of clients and I love being able to develop effective therapeutic relationships with them and their carers/ families. Every day is different and I enjoy being able to use my creativity to solve the challenges my clients might be experiencing. I love coming to work every day and feel privileged to be able to help towards and witness the positive changes and progress that is taking place in each client’s journey.
One of my recent highlights has been supporting a client to relearn how to use a computer and communicate with the outside world after a traumatic brain injury. After a year of not using the computer or iPad, he is now fully competent with sending and receiving emails.
