The ACM Community Rehabilitation Service work with clients to develop programmes of therapy to improve their independence, confidence and self esteem. We work in the client’s own home, community or workplace because research has shown that “real life” rehabilitation has longer term benefits than clinic based rehabilitation.
After an assessment and discussion, the neuro-Occupational Therapists develop bespoke therapy programmes to focus on a client’s particular needs. We may work with the client weekly, fortnightly or monthly, depending on what is required.
In addition, we can deliver Interactive Metronome® Therapy, an innovative, evidence based, computer assessment and training programme, which can improve client’s attention, memory, processing speed, and motor co-ordination.
ACM also has a team of Manual Handling advisors who can provide assessments regarding the client’s individual needs, accompanied by detailed and illustrated Manual Handling policies, bespoke training for support staff and family carers, together with advice on appropriate equipment.
